ONVIF setup checklist

The AI Edge Analytic Box discovers ONVIF and RTSP cameras on your LAN. Setup is usually minutes — when ONVIF is actually enabled.

Checklist

1. Put the edge box on the same network segment as the cameras (or a routed LAN that can reach them). 2. Enable ONVIF on each camera or on the NVR/XVR path you plan to use. Some Dahua and Reolink firmware ships with ONVIF off. 3. Prefer wired PoE cameras for analytics; WiFi-only and battery models often do not appear or drop streams. 4. Confirm credentials and Profile S/G/T support for the models you care about. 5. Assign AI streams only to views that support the use case (doorway overhead for counting, plate-height for LPR).

Brand notes live under camera compatibility. If discovery fails, check firmware and VLAN isolation before assuming a hardware fault.
